Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition, in collaboration with Tanganyika Law Society, Zanzibar Law Society, East Africa Law Society, Pan Africa Lawyers Union, and Zanzibar Female Lawyers Association, conducted the Verification and Institutional Confirmation of the Institutional Needs Assessment Report for Bar Associations in Tanzania on 17–18 February 2026 at Protea Hotel by Marriott Dar es Salaam Courtyard. The exercise validated evidence-based institutional gaps, built consensus on priority reforms, and agreed on measurable actions to strengthen governance, service delivery, coordination, and sustainability. This collective process laid a strong foundation for resilient Bar Associations capable of advancing the rule of law and protecting human rights in Tanzania and beyond.
