Civil society organizations from across Africa convened in Maseru, Lesotho, for the 24th CSO Forum on April 13-14, 2024. The primary objective of this platform is to bring together civil society organizations, human rights defenders, scholars, researchers, and development partners to deliberate on various issues concerning children's rights in Africa.
Representing THRDC at the forum, Ms. Perpetua Senkoro, Coordinator of the THRDC-Defenders with Disability Initiative, participated in a discussion on the rights of children with albinism in Africa. The discussion highlighted the importance of being deliberate in ensuring meaningful participation and representation of CSOs advocating for disability rights in such forums to promote inclusivity of discussions and recommendations for children with disabilities in Africa.
Earlier this year, THRDC established a dedicated desk for Defenders with Disabilities to facilitate an enabling, safe, and inclusive environment for their work of defending human rights.
