Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) in collaboration with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), the National Council of NGOs (NaCoNGO) and Wajibu Institute of Public Accountability (WIPA), has launched the second revised edition (2024) of the Tax Toolkit for Nonprofit Organizations in Tanzania.
The launching took place at Miramonti Hotel on 2nd June 2024 in Dodoma with the guest of honor being Mr. Alfred Mregi Commissiomnner for Domestic Revenue on Behalf of the Commissioner General of TRA.
When launching the Tax Toolkit the guest of honor emphasized the importance of tax compliance for every citizen and highlighted the role of civil society organizations as effective agents in supporting the Tanzania Revenue Authority in revenue collection.
Furthermore, he stated that the challenges of obtaining exemptions are the right of every individual with legitimate reasons, which will influence the TRA's decision-making process.
