As FIFA23, kicks
off today, conducted a workshop on Digital Resilience and Social Justice
in Dar es Salaam bringing together CSOs leaders and Board of Director’s to
learn more about Digital Resilience and the opportunities for social justices. In his remarks opening this important workshop, Adv. Onesmo Olengurumwa -THRDC
National Coordinator emphasized on effective utilization of digital spaces that
presents opportunities for more efficiency in our work. Everything is going
digital I.e. banking services are digital, meetings are online, e-services are
being improved day to day.
Olengurumwa cautioned that, these opportunities come with challenges. There is
an increase of cybercrimes like hacking and phishing which requires people to
take security measures when they are online. On her part, Mwendwa Mavuva from the KICTANet reinstated KICTANET commitment to
cooperate with THRDC in enhancing capacities of CSOs leaders on digital
resilience so as they can reach to a wider community rising awareness on
digital security.
For the past 11 years, THRDC have been empowering HRDs on digital security.
Through the “Tatua Digital Resilience, THRDC sustains this initiative
collaborating with KICTANET in this regional program.
