Today 27 September 2023, THRDC in collaboration with the National Council of NGOs was thrilled to have a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in Dr es Salaam aiming at discussing the state of non-profit taxation and possible areas of collaboration to address the existing challenges and support the current initiatives in implementation of the Development Plans.
THRDC in collaboration with the Office of NGOs Registrar, National NGO Board and National Council of NGOs have been working with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for about five years now to solve CSOs Tax Compliance issues.
Commitment to ongoing collaboration and open dialogue paves the way for a collaborative, transparent, and effective taxation benefiting both CSOs as stakeholders and the broader society.
From TRA, the Deputy Commissioner, Hon. Edwin Kawamala was accompanied by other senior officials i.e Mr. Richard Kayombo-Director of Tax Education; Mr. Stephen Kawezala-and Mr. Maternus Mallya-TRA principal Tax Officers.
