Word from National coordinator

Greetings!

I'm Onesmo Olengurumwa, the National Coordinator for the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition. We're here to help you protect your rights as a human rights defender—and we'd love it if you could join us.

THRDC aims to create a safe and secure environment for people like you in Tanzania, so that you can do your job without fear of persecution or violence. Since its inception in 2013, THRDC has worked with a wide range of groups to achieve its mission.

We're excited about what we do here at THRDC: defending organizations working in different thematic areas that represent just about every kind of human rights issue and challenge facing our community today. We focus on nine (9) thematic areas: Political and human rights in general; women's rights, legal aid providers; children's rights; pastoralists' rights; freedom of expression, minority rights, Natural Resources and Economic Rights, Social Rights and Accountability.
