INTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES – ADVERTISEMENT / INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) invites qualified and reputable audit firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the provision of Internal Audit Services for the financial years 2026–2028. Please visit https://thrdc.or.tz for more details about our organization

1. Objective of the Assignment

The Internal Auditor will provide independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance systems within THRDC 

2. key responsibilities

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for:

• Conducting biannually internal audits in accordance with approved audit plans;
• Reviewing financial records, transactions, and compliance with internal policies and donor requirements;
• Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems;
• Identifying risks, weaknesses, and irregularities and recommending corrective actions;
• Preparing internal audit reports for management and the Board of directors
• Following up on implementation of audit recommendations from both internal and external auditors.

3. Deliverable

· Internal audit report and audit recommendations

4. Reporting Line

The Internal Auditor will report functionally to the Finance and Administration Committee (Audit Committee) and administratively to management, while maintaining independence in audit functions.

5. Eligibility Criteria

Interested audit firms must:

• Be legally registered and licensed by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA);
• Demonstrate proven experience not less than five (5) years in auditing NGOs and donor-funded organizations;
• Have qualified and experienced professional staff;
• Demonstrate independence and absence of conflict of interest;
• Adhere to international auditing standards and professional ethics.
• Possess strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills

Interested firms are required to submit:

• Company profile and registration documents;
• Technical proposal;
• Financial proposal;
• Evidence of similar assignments undertaken;
• Valid professional certifications and licenses.

8. Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated in accordance with THRDC procurement procedures. Only shortlisted firms will be contacted for further steps.
